Exclusive: EuropaCorp is in advanced negotiations with Scandinavian distrib Scanbox on a long-term output deal.The deal, which is believed to be closing imminently in Cannes, is another link in the influential Gallic production and distribution company's plans to extend output deals across various territories across the globe.At a press conference earlier this month, EuropaCorp founder Luc Besson and new CEO Christophe Lambert said the company was aiming to forge pacts in Japan, Scandinavia and the U.S. after closing an output deal with Germany's Universum in October.Additionally, the two expressed hopes for launching distribution hubs in Blighty, Italy and Russia.Deal is expected to last three to five years, and will see Scanbox distribute across all media for EuropaCorp productions.Scanbox has seen large success from a variety of EuropaCorp pics, which it has distributed in the Scandi region.Distrib has released the "Arthur" trilogy, Liam Neeson starrer "Taken" and "22 Bullets," which have all had significant box office success in Scandinavia.
