Have You Set Too Big Of Goals For Weight Loss | New Health and ...

New Health And Fitness.Org - Health Information You Can Use

Over seventy percent of women say they want to lose weight but very few of these women ever do. For a lot of them it is simply that they never get started at all and out of the ladies that do get started it is because they lack drive after a while and give up.

They forget what it is they are working for and find it is much easier to give up and go on with their lives. That is why making fitness and weight loss goals is so critical. And by setting goals I do not just mean saying them to yourself, I mean writing them down, telling other people and posting goals where you can see them every day.

Having an overall goal is important but it can be stressful and very unmotivating if you have a sticker on the mirror that says you want to lose thirty pounds. Especially if you only lost 2 pounds the first week. Even though that is normal it can feel depressing.

That is why having mini goals that work up to your overall goal is so important. For example for the month of March you can say you want to lose nine pounds. If you lose those nine or even more then you can celebrate with a treat of some sort which will pump you up for the next month.

Basically goals help define your workout plans and nutritional habits. They help keep you on track to succeed and give you reasons to keep pushing forward. If you only had the lose thirty pound goal then that could be months of work and of being sad because you have not reached it.

So right now, sit down and write out a big goal that you want to reach on the top of a calendar. Then for each month list out mini goals to help you get there. For each goal you reach give yourself a reward. Also write out how you plan to make it happen? what are you going to doing with your eating, what kind of fat burning workouts are you planning on doing and when is it time to change them up (every three to four weeks).
