Oliver has had some serious blinders on when it came to his mother on "Arrow," so Diggle did some investigating of his own. He filled in as her driver, allowing him to follow her to various meetings. Finally, he hit the jackpot when she met with Malcolm Merlyn. There, he was able to record her saying some incriminating things that left no doubt that she was involved in something shady in Starling City -- and possibly in the boat mishap that led to the death of Oliver's father.
Throughout much of the episode, Oliver was distracted by Laurel getting kidnapped by a man trying to make a name for himself in Starling City. His plan was to take out the Hood, and it was a good plan. What he didn't count on was the most reluctant team-up in the history of superheroics, as Detective Lance realized the only person he could trust when it came to his daughter was the Hood.
After rescuing her, Oliver realized it was too risky and so The Hood told Laurel that this was goodbye. He then had to face the truth about his mother, making it a pretty bad day all around. So can he be blamed for flying into her office as The Hood and holding her at arrow-point?
Will he let loose and kill his mother? Surely not, as where would be the drama in that? But fans will have to wait until next week to see their confrontation on "Arrow," Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
