Though the company loses money on these replacements (which, again, are the customer?s fault), but Wimmer says ?the key isthat every customer doesn?t have to generate a positive ROI. If we generate a positive ROI on?most?of our customers, the bottom line takes care of itself. When you aren?t trying to squeeze every nickel out of every transaction, it?s easy to do the right thing for an individual customer.? He has a point, too. Thinking about what the customer wants, instead of his company?s more economic desires, is what?s created the rabid fan base that leapt to Road ID?s defense on bikeforum.net, after all.

The connection to food service here should be obvious. It?s easy to be annoyed when a picky company wants special treatment: something that?s not on the menu, food taken back for some reason or another, etc. Often, this is the fault of the customer, who hasn?t ordered what he or she has meant to or something. In an email sent to shops on Monday, DC Entertainment wrote that it had decided to postpone the release of "Batman, Incorporated" No. 3 "because the comic contains content that may be perceived as insensitive in light of recent events."

The email, a copy of which The Associated Press obtained Tuesday, did not disclose the content. The series is written by Grant Morrison and illustrated by Chris Burnham.

On Twitter, Burnham wrote that the issue would be delayed for "some grim imagery that would seem wholly inappropriate given the Aurora killings."

He also wrote that "It's not just a Batman comic with guns in it. There's a specific scene that made DC & the whole Bat-team say 'Yikes.' Too close for comfort."

DC Entertainment asked sellers not to make the issue available until Aug. 22.

"Please do not make this issue available at this time. Please hold the copies," the email read.

Also delayed were digital editions of the issue.

DC Entertainment said the issue was not being held because it is a Batman title, but because of concern about the content in the issue.

The rain Saturday night knocked down trees in Beijing and trapped cars and buses in waist-deep water in some areas. In Tongzhou district on the capital's eastern outskirts, two people were killed by collapsed roofs, one person was fatally struck by lightning and a fourth was electrocuted by a fallen power line as he helped neighbors escape, the government's Xinhua News Agency said.

One man in Beijing died when his car was trapped in deep water near the city center, the newspaper Beijing News said.

Elsewhere, six people were killed by rain-triggered landslides in Sichuan province in the west, Xinhua said, citing disaster officials. Four people died in Shanxi province in the north when their truck was swept away by a rain-swollen river.

On Sunday, the government warned of more storms over the following 24 hours for?China's?northeast, the port city of Tianjin east of Beijing, Inner Mongolia in the north, Sichuan and neighboring Yunnan province, and Guangdong and Hainan provinces in the southeast.

China?suffers?flooding?and dozens of storm-related deaths every summer rainy season, but such a heavy downpour in relatively dry Beijing is unusual.

On Saturday, the capital's suburban Fangshan district received 460 millimeters (18.4 inches) of rain, breaking a record set in 1951, the weather bureau said. It said suburban Pinggu district got 100.3 millimeters (4 inches) of rain in one hour.

A flash?flood?in Fangshan stranded 104 primary school students and nine teachers at a military training site, Xinhua said. It said they were in no immediate danger and that rescuers had taken food to them.

At the Beijing airport, 229 domestic and 14 international flights were canceled and more were delayed, the airport authority announced. The Beijing News said some 80,000 travelers were stranded at the airport as of 11:30 p.m. on Saturday.

The capital's skies were clear Sunday, but the airport said nine more domestic flights were canceled and 50 delayed, while four international flights were canceled and four delayed.

Some 14,500 people were evacuated Saturday from parts of Beijing, Xinhua said. The Beijing News said they included 5,200 people who left areas in Fangshan that were vulnerable to landslides.

?Contrary to its original intention, Coach Paterno's statue has become a source of division and an obstacle to healing in our University and beyond,? Penn State President Rodney Erickson said in a statement Sunday.

?For that reason, I have decided that it is in the best interest of our university and public safety to remove the statue and store it in a secure location,? he said. ?I believe that, were it to remain, the statue will be a recurring wound to the multitude of individuals across the nation and beyond who have been the victims of child abuse.?

In a way, it was a Solomonic decision. Remaining in place ? and without any name change, at least for now ? will be the campus library that bears Paterno?s name.

?The Paterno Library symbolizes the substantial and lasting contributions to the academic life and educational excellence that the Paterno family has made to Penn State University,? Mr. Erickson said. ?The library remains a tribute to Joe and Sue Paterno's commitment to Penn State's student body and academic success, and it highlights the positive impacts Coach Paterno had on the University. Thus I feel strongly that the library's name should remain unchanged.?

Over the years, the Paterno family had made large financial contributions to the university.

Coach Paterno?s fall from Penn State football grace came with the horrific reports of child sexual abuse committed over years by Paterno?s chief assistant and friend Jerry Sandusky.

Mr. Sandusky now awaits sentencing for his conviction last month on 45 charges of child sex abuse involving 10 boys over 15 years.

All along Paterno (who was in his 80s and died in January of problems related to an illness that his family had announced some time earlier) maintained that he had no idea that Sandusky was a pedophile whose abuse of many boys stretched over years.

Joe Paterno still greets visitors to Beaver Stadium. Forever looking spry, and pointing toward the sky with his jacket flown open and tie whipped around as if it was hit by the wind of another brisk Penn State football Saturday, Paterno is still there.

Amid a cascade of controversy, of course.

Paterno's statue stands outside the stadium even as his reputation has swiftly fallen following a scathing special investigative report that found he helped cover up child sex abuse allegations against former defensive coordinator Jerry Sandusky.

Much like the final months of his life, there are no easy discussions or answers when it comes to JoePa. Not long after a plane flew over campus this week with a banner that read: "Take the statue down or we will," Penn State students quickly rallied with a vigil to protect it from vandals.

Should it stay or should it go?

Not even the sculptor of the life-sized statue knows, for sure, how to feel about his creation that has turned into a 900-pound Rorschach test for all who step foot on campus.

"I think we should all wait on it. Put a cover on it," Angelo Di Maria said. "Let's see how everyone feels in six months ... or a year."

Penn State won't wait that long. University spokesman David La Torre said a decision on the matter would be made next week as Penn State's president seeks input from trustees, alumni and other constituencies about the fate of the monument.

The 65-year-old Di Maria, who lives near Reading, Pa., was commissioned more than a decade ago by "Friends of Joe and Sue Paterno," as well as Penn State to create the nearly 7-foot statue. Di Maria had a long relationship with the university, mostly creating works for the donor program, when he was asked to craft the statue. Di Maria snapped sideline photos and decided on the iconic shot of Paterno running out of the tunnel, his right index finger extended.

He first made a clay model and then received the approval of one of Paterno's daughters.

But the statue has morphed from a fan-friendly gathering spot to a shameful bronze symbol of all that is wrong with idolizing football coaches.

Critics have called for the sculpture to be taken down after the Freeh report concluded that Paterno was aware of the 1998 allegations against Sandusky ? in contrast to his grand jury testimony and an interview given after his firing ? and that he was involved in the decision to hide a 2001 incident from authorities.

"All the focus is on the statue right now, but horrible crimes were committed," Di Maria said. "Let's move on away from Joe Paterno. He's gone, he's passed on."

Di Maria never imagined his simple statue would leave such a thorny legacy.

Sue Paterno was present when the statue was erected in November 2001 outside Beaver Stadium. There is a three-sided stone wall behind the statue. The left section of the wall reads, "Joseph Vincent Paterno: Educator, Coach, Humanitarian."

Engraved near a wall of plaques to the left of the statue is a Paterno quote: "They asked me what I'd like written about me when I'm gone. I hope they write I've made Penn State a better place, not just that I was a good football coach."

Those aren't the stories written these days. Paterno, in fact, is racking up more losses in death than he did in his final season coaching the Nittany Lions:

? Paternoville, a tent city outside Beaver Stadium where students camp out for prime football tickets, was scrapped this week in favor of Nittanyville.

? Nike took Paterno's name off a child care center on its corporate campus the day the Freeh report was released.

? The halo that had floated above Paterno's head in a State College mural was also removed by the artist, who added a blue ribbon in support of child abuse awareness.

The Penn State library, though, has kept his name on the building. And Di Maria wonders if critics are acting in haste in stripping Paterno's name.

"Are they going to be satisfied with just a halo? Are they going to remove the whole painting? The library? Should they tear that down? Isn't that a tribute, a monument to Joe Paterno, also," he asked. "A lot of people aren't putting things into perspective right now."

Di Maria never met Paterno, and his one chance to greet the former coach ? around the time of the statue's dedication ? was scrapped. He said he was told Paterno was "sidetracked," and a planned luncheon never developed. Di Maria said he never heard from Paterno about the statue.

The artist also has not heard from Penn State about any plans for the statue should it be removed from the stadium in the near future.

Di Maria says his heart goes out to the victims. But he knows what Paterno meant to the community and the program before the scandal erupted, and he'd like those who knew him ? at his best ? to remember him as he is forever frozen in bronze.

"We must consider, I don't mean to make a comparison, but the kids that were attached to all the good, the good legacy that Joe Paterno left behind, are they becoming victims in their own respect by stripping them of this joy, of this experience with Joe Paterno," he asked. "The statue, everything that's associated with them in a positive way, do we have to pay attention to them also?

"Or should we just throw everything away that Joe Paterno ever did in a positive way?"

Good question.

Time will tell.

There are many, but one of the things that concern them the most is finding resources to help, so I thought I would outline a few of them.

In Home Care: Services are available through nursing agencies or by hiring private help. The problems families often complain about, however, when hiring private individuals, is that it is almost impossible to find a replacement quickly when the caregiver is ill or resigns.

Agencies do provide replacements most of the time, but it takes time for caregivers to develop a relationship with the person who has dementia, so this is sometimes a problem as well.

Skilled Care in a Nursing Home: The residents who reside in nursing homes usually need a higher level of care because of medical problems. Most nursing homes provide dementia units in their facility.
