Fixed Assets / Property Accounting Supervisor ****Permanent ... - PRG

Established family entertainment center & restaurant located in the North Irving area has an IMMEDIATE need for an energetic, professional and goal oriented Property Accounting Supervisor!

Qualified candidates will have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance, a strong background in Fixed Assets, Lease Accounting, Property and Real Estate Taxes and will have proven experience as an Accounting Supervisor. ?Ideal candidates will be a CPA with related Public Accounting experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance or related field of study; CPA strongly desired
  • Requires 5+ years of recent experience in Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting
  • 3+ years of recent experience in a related Accounting Supervisor role with proven ability to develop and supervise employees (small-mid size group)
  • Must have in-depth knowledge/understanding and experience with Property and Real Estate Taxes and transferring Assets
  • Public Accounting experience preferred
  • Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Access
  • Great Plains and/or Crystal Reports writing experience, a plus
  • Proven ability to critically evaluate key processes and internal controls and implement improvements
  • Ability to effectively manage vendor relations & services
  • Requires excellent leadership, verbal and written communication, interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Minimal travel to warehouse and restaurants may be needed

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Assist in managing property accounting functions for a capital-intensive Company with over 500 Company-owned locations.
  • Lead Staff Accountant(s) in the preparation and inputting of fixed assets into the project and fixed asset system.
  • Manage and maintain fixed asset and capital project systems, including regular additions, transfers and disposals.
  • Prepare journal entries to record transactions to the general ledger.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation between fixed assets sub ledger and the general ledger.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly capital spending and fixed assets analysis reporting and produce ad-hoc reporting, as needed.
  • Analyze accounting variances and prepare variance explanation reports.
  • Review capital addition invoices to ensure appropriate coding.
  • Ensure accurate accounting for fixed assets for book and tax purposes.
  • Prepare all fixed asset reports/analysis required to support the Tax Department (book/tax).
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.? Establish and document required internal controls related to Fixed Asset processing/accounting.
  • Coordinate and prepare Fixed Asset schedules for interim and end of year external financial audit.
  • Assist the Inventory Accountant during Inventory counts.
  • Identify areas to streamline and automate process.
  • Will be responsible for playing a key role in the pending system conversion from a mainframe fixed asset and project system over the next several years.
  • Implement best practices in our Property Accounting Department, recommend overall process improvements while collaborating with other departments utilizing the assets and/or information.
